Please give us a short summary of your website?
Its a website designed to bring to caribbean people a taste of home. Providing them with another avenue through which they can feel closer to their homeland. As timegoes on it's our intention to cover as mant caribbean islands as possible
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I was inspired by the desire to become apart of something wholesale,a means to achieve a feeling of serving the needs of so many who are far from home
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I first launced this web site almost two years ago.It has been my first and only one.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Well as a caribbean native,I thought it appropriate in that it suggested a crossroads where the cultures met enabling us to at least co-exist as one people from the same region
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
iTs different to the extent that I attempt to provide merchandise that can meet the tastes of not just one group,but several groups that though looking for their own colors can be introduced to their neighbours culturally.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I am not a youngster by any means,thus it's my hope and desire to create an entity ,that hopefully my children will carry on as a tradition
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Money to a degree is important.Equally important its a means by which I can provide a service,interact with other people as I satisy their needs.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would change to the extent, that would enable me to realise the ambition to manufacture most things that I might choose to offer.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes I am sure I would be able to.As I stated earlier,I have several children,some of whom are an integral part of the ideas I have on the drawing board
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
The biggest headache to date is obtaining the proper exposure,and dealing with the delays created by manufacturers who in my opinion have yet to realise that time is of the essence as it relates to on time delivery and availability of merchandise
What has been your biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge so far is the exposure I need to propel me forward.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
I have been successful in promoting my website via flyers and word of mouth by satisfied customers.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
this question takes me back to a former comment , that providers of services seem not to fully understand that prompt delivery of service is essential to business
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I have run it for two years,and plan to do so till I am unable to at which time my children will assume responsibility for its continuation
