An Island Nation which has a flavor on its own, Grenada, an island nation located in the southeastern of the Caribbean Sea, supplies the third of the world's spices available as powders, syrups or jams.
The island was first named as Conception island by Christopher Columbus in the recorded history beginning 1498. Spaniards and and English have settled in the past in this island but French are the one who become successful on colonizing the spice island and changed its name to La Grenada. Fort Royal (known as St. George's Port) was also established here in 1650 as ordered by Cardinal Richelieu as shelter against harsh hurricanes for the Navy. More on the link below.
